Spirit Essences
These Essences are infused with Love in a crystal vase usually in both sunlight and moonlight during a special celestial or earth event.
Made in Neahkahnie Mountain spring water, they contain alcohol as a preservative.
Because they are Spirit Medicine they operate on a subtle level of one’s being. Always they come from a being – a plant, a place, a stone – that wanted to give its gift to us humans. I listen to the meaning & character of each gift as told to me by the being itself. I’ve also included comments from a local friend, Diana May, who is a channel and healer, on some of the essences.
I’d like to hear about any experiences you have with them.
Take a drop or two – either straight or in water- whenever they call to you (i.e., when you “think” to do so.)
All essences are $9 each unless otherwise marked. No additional charge for shipping within the U.S..
AQUAMARINE (Blue Quartz) GEM ESSENCE Halloween, October 31, 2008 Breaking the Spell was the intention of a gathering just before the presidential elections. Diana May says it has “flying dragon medicine.” |

COLUMBIA LILY ESSENCE Full Moon, Lunar Eclipse & an astrological Cardinal Grand Cross, June 26, 2010 Moving into One’s Power. This most magical of native plants grows around our Table Rock portal & was picked to bless Craig and Glenna’s labyrinth during a ceremony for the Oceans and a fire afterwards for Full Moon Drumming and dancing. Diana May says it brings forth the JOY aspect because little Spirit beings were dancing around during it’s making. |
COMFREY FLOWER ESSENCE Lunar Beltane, May 4, 2010 Coming Together Without Fear – Re-Integrating lost parts of the Self and one’s tribe so that the symphony of the whole can be heard. Comfrey’s Latin name is Symphytum. In the Herbal Tarot, Comfrey is the World card – the final coming together card. A potent plant indeed. |
COYOTE RIDGE ESSENCE Summer Solstice, June 21, 2009 Checkermallow, Foxglove, Fawn Lily Seedpod – Creating Community. The creative energy clinked into place & obstacles were swept aside as a group of investors and potential homeowners gathered for a blessing circle on our property in a slow process of development in Nehalem. Diana May says this essence speaks to a calling and longing of the heart from the soul level that will carry you forward with great love. |
DEVIL’S CLUB ROOT ESSENCE Samhain, October 31, 2009 Dealing with Creative Chaos within the self and within the world. Made at the Witch’s Ball. As I’ve been unsuccessful at transplanting this powerful plant, this comes from God’s Valley. |

Foxglove is heart medicine and the Wild Iris makes my heart glow every spring. |

HEDGE NETTLE ESSENCE Summer Solstice, June 21, 2010 Overall Healing. This is a classic case of a “weed” that has great systemic healing properties. I suspect it helps with whatever ails you. |

PACIFIC WATERLEAF FLOWER ESSENCE June 1, 2008 Being with the Mystery, especially our emotional blind spots. This plant spread on our land, despite my attempts to dig it up. I finally accepted it as part of the journey. Diana May says it will provide a “stinging” protective shield/barrier/boundaries for you that signals “keep away.” |
PLAY ESSENCE Fall Equinox, September 21, 2008 Made at the center of Glenna & Craig’s Labyrinth as we wound our way singing Row, Row Your Boat, spraying each other with bubbles and fairy bells to lighten the energy and to remember that life is but a dream. |
QUARTZ CRYSTAL GEM ESSENCE Lunar Eclipse, February 20, 2008 Finding vital hidden parts of the Self. This was made after Tom and I had a powerful Soul Retrieval with Shaman Christina Pratt. Diana May got that this essence needs a cautionary note as it can take one into the depths of longing, bringing melancholy and despair. I’m guessing it’s like the Goddess Kali – bringing old stuff into the open can hurt but can also be purifying…. |
ROSE QUARTZ GEM ESSENCE Wesak Perigee Moon, May 5 & 6 2012 Knowing One’s Heart’s Song: What is it that the heart – the true “mind” – wants of us in each moment? This essence can help clarify our life’s mission. |
ST JOHN’S WORT FLOWER ESSENCE August, 2011 Bright yellow Summer Sun Energy, especially when needed in the dark of winter. St John’s Wort is sacred to the Summer Solstice and is commonly used for depression. Diana May got it that this essence has deep transformational qualities. She says it is very subtle and best taken over a 3 month period. Set an intention and over time a very quiet kind of awakening will happen. |
SELF-HEAL FLOWER ESSENCE July 22, 2011 Stimulates innate healing reserves. I first “met” this innocuous little purple flowered plant on my 50th birthday in 1999 and then began to see it in people’s yards everywhere. It has powerful medicine whenever you pay attention to it. Prunella vulgaris. Diana May says it is good for the eyes for “seeing in a different way,” i.e. it has healing qualities but it is mainly for gaining perspective. You must ask where and how you are seeing and what must shift in order to heal. |
SPRING FORWARD FLOWER ESSENCE: VIOLET, SALMONBERRY, MINER’S LETTUCE, DANDELION Full Moon in Scorpio, April 20, 2008 I was on the lookout for an essence that would move stuck energy, but it had been a long, chilly, rainy spring. So I picked the only blossoms managing to bloom in the gloom. They told me the name of the essence wasn’t “move forward” but “spring forward.” Of course! Diana May recently sang about it: “Go to the wounds, go to the wounds, go to the wounds.” It will take you to the wounds and open them. |
SUMMER SOLSTICE FLOWER ESSENCE June 20, 2008 Wild Iris, Foxglove, Old Man in the Ground, Wild Hollyhock, Buttercup, Hedge Nettle, Calendula, Cow Parsnip, Large Leaf Avens, Miners Lettuce, St.John’s Wort, English Daisy – Deepening Connection to Gaia – Green Goddess of the Earth. A burst of summer growth energy made during a wild weekend of earth revelry and Neahkahnie Mountain connections. |
USNEA ESSENCE Half Moon, January 18, 2009 Inspiration – An air purifier for trees, this essence is about breath & lungs and thus the in-breath of inspiration. It was made the night I realized I was starting a novel, immediately titled, What If, Can Be. |
VALERIAN FLOWER ESSENCE Summer Solstice, June 21, 2010 Calming Fears -The plant came to my garden from Roberta Mackrill’s garden in Corbett, Or. She said a lot of it was growing because we were going to be needing it. It will get at some deep deep fears you’ve carried a long time. Diana May says you will want to sing from your heart with this one because it aids the purity of the soul coming through to the heart. |
YARROW FLOWER ESSENCE Summer Solstice, June 20, 2012 Created during a lovely celebration at Pine Grove with ecstatic dancing, African drumming, and the surprise gifting of a community-made quilt to Craig and Glenna. The plant came to my garden from Vivi Tallman’s. Yarrow repairs the aura, helping you to rebound from empathetic sensitivity, radiation & chemical exposure and other trauma. Not knowing this, Diana May got it that it is full of happiness and childlike playfulness and about greeting adversity with innocence. She said that many Spirit beings were around when it was made. I take that to mean this will help you stay out of fear but go rather into childlike trust that all will be well. |
